His subsequent gurus include Pandit. Laxman Prasad Jaipurwale and the revered Pandit. Vijay Raghav Rao. A powerhouse performer, Ronu Majumdar is solidly rooted in the Maihar gharana, which has produced musicians of the eminence of Pt. Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. A Grammy nominee, Ronu Majumdar is a popular recording artist. His name has been musically associated with international Greats such as Pandit Ravi Shankar, Beatle George Harrison and ace guitarist Ry Cooder.
