Pandit Ronu Majumdar, India’s Ace flautist began playing the flute under the guidance of his father Dr. Bhanu Majumdar. His subsequent gurus include Pandit. Laxman Prasad Jaipurwale and the revered Pandit. Vijay Raghav Rao. A powerhouse performer, Ronu Majumdar is solidly rooted in the Maihar gharana, which has produced musicians of the eminence of Pt. Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.
A Grammy nominee, Ronu Majumdar is a popular recording artist. His name has been musically associated with international Greats such as Pandit Ravi Shankar, Beatle George Harrison and ace guitarist Ry Cooder.
